Durethan BKV30 P65R2 is a polyamide 6 with 30 percent glass fibre based on recycled material. Envalior lists it as Akulon RePurposed RE30. Mechanically it performs on a par with a virgin GF30.

These values are taken from the manufacturer datasheet and apply to the material, not to the printed part. In 3D printing the achievable properties depend on part orientation, layer height and process parameters – in the Z direction in particular they are lower. Please talk to us before relying on them for design.

“Qualified for functional parts” is a general classification. A functional part can be a simple clip or a main load-bearing member – the forces and load cases differ fundamentally. We therefore always assess in each individual case whether a material is suitable for your part.

Strengths

  • Recycled-based – noticeably lowers the carbon footprint compared with virgin material
  • Mechanically on a par with a virgin PA6-GF30: 165 MPa stress at break, 9,600 MPa tensile modulus
  • Dimensionally stable up to 200 °C (HDT A)
  • Still 8 kJ/m² notched impact strength at −30 °C

Limitations

  • Envalior marks the datasheet as preliminary – the values may still change
  • Hygroscopic: conditioned, the stress at break drops from 165 to 100 MPa
  • Brittle, unsuitable for spring elements
  • Warping tendency on large flat areas
