We, as the operator of this website, take the protection of your personal data very seriously. We therefore treat your personal data confidentially and in accordance with statutory data protection regulations and this privacy policy.
Our website can generally be used without providing personal data. Where personal data (such as email address, name or postal address) is collected on our pages, this is always done, wherever possible, on a voluntary basis. This data will not be passed on to third parties without your express consent.
Personal data (e.g. name, email address) is only collected on this website if you provide it to us voluntarily, for example when you contact us or fill in a form on our website. In order to use certain services, it is sometimes necessary to collect personal data such as name, email address, postal address or telephone number.
Your personal data will only be used for the purpose for which you provided it to us, e.g. to process your enquiry, for the technical administration of the website, and for customer management. The provision of this data is expressly voluntary and given with your consent.

This website uses so-called cookies in some areas. Cookies do not cause any damage to your computer and do not contain viruses. They serve to make our website more user-friendly, effective and secure. Most of the cookies we use are so-called "session cookies", which are automatically deleted once your visit ends. Other cookies remain stored on your device until you delete them.
You can configure your browser to notify you when cookies are set, and to allow cookies only in individual cases, exclude them generally, or have them deleted automatically when you close the browser. Disabling cookies may limit the functionality of this website.
This website is hosted by IONOS SE, Elgendorfer Straße 57, 56410 Montabaur, Germany. IONOS processes the technical data arising in the process – in particular the details recorded in the server log files – on our behalf, under a data processing agreement pursuant to Art. 28 GDPR. The legal basis for using a service provider is our legitimate interest in the secure and reliable operation of this website (Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR). The servers are located in Germany; no transfer to a third country takes place.
The provider of these pages automatically collects and stores information in so-called server log files, which your browser automatically transmits to us: page or file requested, browser type and version, operating system used, device type, referrer URL, host name of the accessing computer, time of the server request, and IP address. The IP address is stored in anonymised form.
This data cannot be attributed to specific individuals and is not merged with other data sources. These logs are deleted after eight weeks at the latest.
To see which pages are in demand and how visitors find us, we analyse access to this website with IONOS WebAnalytics, a service of our hosting provider IONOS SE (see "Hosting"). It is based on the server log files described above. WebAnalytics sets no cookies and neither stores nor reads any information on your device.
The analysis covers the page requested, the referrer URL, browser type and version, operating system, device type and time of access. Your IP address is anonymised immediately after transmission and used only to determine the approximate region of origin; no conclusions about individual visitors are possible. We receive aggregated statistics only, and no data is passed on to third parties. The legal basis is our legitimate interest in designing and improving our website in line with demand (Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR).
If the service search on our "Calibration Laboratory" page or the search on our "Materials" page finds nothing suitable, we store the search term and – for the materials search – the filters selected (such as minimum values or approvals) together with the date, time and language version on our server. This shows us which calibrations and materials are in demand that we do not yet offer. We evaluate the entries internally in a weekly overview. No further details are stored with the search term – in particular neither your IP address nor any information about your device. Terms that look like an email address or a telephone number are discarded; please do not enter any personal data in the search fields all the same.
The legal basis is our legitimate interest in developing our range of services in line with demand (Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR). The entries are deleted automatically after twelve months at the latest.
If you send us enquiries via the contact form, the details you provide in the enquiry form, including the contact details you give there, will be stored by us for the purpose of processing your enquiry and in case of follow-up questions. We will not pass on this data without your consent.
Mandatory fields are name, email address, subject and message – without these we cannot process your enquiry. Optional fields are phone number, position in the company and type of enquiry. You may leave these blank; the form can be submitted without them. If you do provide them, we process them solely in order to route your enquiry to the right people more quickly and to reach you by your preferred channel. No further evaluation – such as profiling or advertising – takes place.
The legal basis for this processing is our legitimate interest in responding to your enquiry pursuant to Art. 6 Abs. 1 lit. f DSGVO (GDPR). If your contact is aimed at the conclusion of a contract, the additional legal basis is Art. 6 Abs. 1 lit. b DSGVO (GDPR). Your data will be deleted once your enquiry has been conclusively processed, unless statutory retention periods preclude this.
In addition to your enquiry, you automatically receive a confirmation at the email address you provided. This serves solely to confirm receipt; your address is not used for advertising.
For sending and receiving our business email – including the messages and acknowledgements triggered by the contact form – we use Microsoft 365 provided by Microsoft Ireland Operations Limited, One Microsoft Place, South County Business Park, Leopardstown, Dublin 18, Ireland. Microsoft processes the data on our behalf under a data processing agreement pursuant to Art. 28 GDPR. Processing in third countries, in particular the USA, cannot be ruled out; Microsoft is certified under the EU-US Data Privacy Framework and additionally applies the EU standard contractual clauses. The legal basis is our legitimate interest in reliable business communication (Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR), and for contract-related correspondence additionally Art. 6(1)(b) GDPR.
The typeface used on this website is served from our own server. No connection to third-party servers is established – in particular none to Google Fonts – and no data is transferred to third parties.
Our website is available in German and English. So that you do not have to switch manually,
a small script running in your browser reads the preferred language configured there
(browser setting, technically navigator.language). If it differs from the
language currently displayed, we show a notice with a link to the other version.
No location detection takes place. We do not evaluate your IP address for this and do not embed any geolocation service. The evaluation happens exclusively in your browser; no data is transmitted to us or to third parties. We deliberately do not redirect you automatically – you decide whether to switch language.
If you dismiss the notice or follow it, your browser stores that decision in local storage
(localStorage, key ziko-sprache) so the notice does not appear
again. This entry contains only the language code ("de" or "en"), never leaves your device
and serves solely the function you requested. The legal basis for this storage is
Section 25 (2) no. 2 TDDDG; no consent is required. You can delete the entry at any time
via your browser settings.
On our homepage, we embed map material from the "Google Maps" service provided by Google Ireland Limited, Gordon House, Barrow Street, Dublin 4, Ireland, in order to show you our company location. However, the map is not loaded automatically; it is only loaded after you have expressly consented via our cookie notice or the button on the map field.
Only once you have given your consent is a connection established to Google's servers, whereby your IP address and possibly other usage data are transmitted to Google, in some cases also to the USA. Cookies may also be set in this process. For more information on how user data is handled, please refer to Google's privacy policy: policies.google.com/privacy.
The legal basis for embedding the map following your consent is Art. 6 Abs. 1 lit. a DSGVO (GDPR) in conjunction with § 25 Abs. 1 TDDDG (German Telecommunications Digital Services Data Protection Act). For technical necessity, we store your decision (accept/decline) locally in your browser (localStorage) so that you are not asked again on every page visit. You can withdraw or change your selection at any time via the "Cookie Settings" link in the footer of the homepage.
We have implemented extensive technical and organisational measures to protect your data against accidental or intentional manipulation, loss, destruction, or access by unauthorised persons. Our security procedures are reviewed regularly and adapted to technological developments.
You have the right to withdraw, at any time and with future effect, any consent you have given to the collection and use of personal data.
You have the right to request information about the data stored about you. At your request, this information can also be provided electronically.
You have the right to have inaccurate data rectified (Art. 16 GDPR) and your stored personal data erased (Art. 17 GDPR). Where statutory retention obligations preclude erasure, you may instead request restriction of processing (Art. 18 GDPR) – the data will then only be stored and no longer used.
You have the right to receive the data you provided to us on the basis of consent or for the performance of a contract in a structured, commonly used and machine-readable format, or to have it transmitted to another controller (Art. 20 GDPR).
Where we process your data on the basis of a legitimate interest – which applies in particular to handling enquiries sent through our contact form – you may object to that processing at any time on grounds relating to your particular situation (Art. 21 GDPR). We will then no longer process the data unless we can demonstrate compelling legitimate grounds that override your interests, or the processing serves to establish, exercise or defend legal claims.
Without prejudice to any other remedy, you have the right to lodge a complaint with a data protection supervisory authority if you consider that the processing of your data infringes the GDPR (Art. 77 GDPR).
