These values are taken from the manufacturer datasheet and apply to the material, not to the printed part. In 3D printing the achievable properties depend on part orientation, layer height and process parameters – in the Z direction in particular they are lower. Please talk to us before relying on them for design.

“Qualified for functional parts” is a general classification. A functional part can be a simple clip or a main load-bearing member – the forces and load cases differ fundamentally. We therefore always assess in each individual case whether a material is suitable for your part.

Strengths

  • The stiffest polypropylene in our range: 6,200 MPa tensile modulus at only 1.14 g/cm³
  • Low coefficient of thermal expansion and low creep under load
  • Dimensionally stable to 155 °C (HDT B) – high for a polypropylene
  • Very low water absorption, good resistance to acids and alkalis
  • Good mould release, widely used in the automotive sector

Limitations

  • The manufacturer expressly excludes medical, pharmaceutical, food and drinking-water applications
  • Available only in colour version 105290
  • Warping tendency when printing large flat areas
  • Poor paintability and bondability
  • Lower strength than reinforced polyamides
