SABIC · Valox 357XU

Valox is SABIC’s PBT range. Compared with polyamides, PBT scores with very low moisture uptake and therefore high dimensional stability – an advantage wherever tight tolerances must hold over the service life. The 357XU grade is a flame-retardant, impact-modified blend of PBT and polycarbonate.

These values are taken from the manufacturer datasheet and apply to the material, not to the printed part. In 3D printing the achievable properties depend on part orientation, layer height and process parameters – in the Z direction in particular they are lower. Please talk to us before relying on them for design.

“Qualified for functional parts” is a general classification. A functional part can be a simple clip or a main load-bearing member – the forces and load cases differ fundamentally. We therefore always assess in each individual case whether a material is suitable for your part.
